* Webdezined does NOT provide eCommerce Cart Software. We do however, recommend open source cart software such as osCommerce for your eCommerce needs. Open source software is usually free of charge for the basic program, however, it may require custom programming and upgrades to meet your needs. Upgrades and custom programming could include features like integration with shipping companies such as UPS (USPS is usually standard), uploading images for stores that custom design their products, etc. You can check out osCommerce and all of it's features here at www.osCommerce.com. If you prefer to use a paid ecommerce solution, we recommend Miva Merchant, Volusion, and Cart 32.
** Webdezined does NOT provide SSL ceritficates. SSL Certificates are digital certificates that authenticate the identity of a website to visiting browsers and encrypt information for the server via Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology. An SSL certificate is required for secure website purchases. A valid SSL certificate will enable the use of https:// on your website. You can purchase one at www.godaddy.com for $29.99. Please note that some hosting companies charge a fee to install SSL certificates on their servers. This fee is not included in the eCommerce package.
*** Webdezined does NOT provide Merchant Accounts as these need to be setup by you or your company. We do, however, integrate a Payment Gateway that connects your cart to your merchant account allowing you to make transactions.
If you do not currently have a merchant account, we suggest the use of Paypal.
We recommend you sign up for Paypal Websites Payment PRO. This option allows payment processing on your site. The fee is $30 per month plus merchant fee of 1.9% to 2.9% + $0.30 USD per sale. There are no set up or cancellation fees.
A second option is Paypal Websites Payment STANDARD. This option integrates a buy now or add to cart button into your website. When the customer checks out, he is directed to a secure paypal payment page to complete the transaction. (The customer leaves your site temporarily.) After making credit card payment, the customer is them redirected back to your site. The fee is based on monthly income plus merchant fee of 1.9% to 2.9% + $0.30 USD per sale.
Paypal has some of the lowest rates in the industry and is used by millions of businesses, including ebay. We can guide you through this step and make further recommendations if necessary.
